With Glastonbury 2009 approaching there is one unusual product that comes to mind, sky lanterns. They have, in recent years, become an integral part of any Glastonbury-goers experience. In an interview in 2008 the headliner’s, Kings of Leon, cited the launch of lanterns from the Stone Circle as their most powerful memory of the festival. If you do not directly release one from the mystical Stone Circle you are likely to witness their otherworldly presence as they drift up and across the rolling Somerset farm land. It is no surprise that the use of the lanterns, with their connotations of serenity and optimism, have become intrinsically associated with the Stone Circle. This area is where festival goers seek respite in the depths of the night, sitting around and talking communally around fires in the unconfined spirit that remains at the heart of the festival. As is traditional with sky lanterns, a wish is made with each one released. It is a powerful experience to watch from the hillside of the Circle as the wishes float across the packed festival, oblivious to the frantic crowds beneath them, up in to the sky and out of sight. Watching the sky lanterns take this journey in to the clouds is a divine moment to ponder and escape. It is one of the reasons that despite its ever sprawling size, Glastonbury remains unparalleled.

My husband is a wonderful husband and father, as well as being a good provider and kind man. He is having one of those “big” birthdays, and we want to get him an expensive watch to show him how much we love and appreciate him. Our daughter suggested we do some research online to find out which watches would be the best purchase for him. The kids did the research, and even ordered the luminox dive watch online when they found a great price. It turned out the only thing I had to do was wrap it up and arrange the party. He was blown away by the party and loved the watch. The kids did good.
My husband used to be a diver for the Navy; you know the kind, with the hard hats and heavy shoes. Now since he is retired, he has gone through a number of watches. He is having a difficult time with his watches. In a way, he is like a male Goldilocks; one has too small of a face, another one loses time, and there is one that has so many functions, he can’t even remember how to change the time. He either can’t see the numbers and information, can’t remember how to turn the light or put in a new battery. I think I will get him a luminox dive watch for Christmas. One that will remind him of his youth as well as one he can operate!
Being the conscientious sugar glider parent you obviously will be it will be difficult to pass up any toy you think is something your glider will enjoy. As a new parent you may wonder what types of things your new sugar glider will have fun with. Everything! At least that is the short answer. As baby sugar gliders they will probably not spend a lot of time playing right off. They will be spending all their time getting used to their new surroundings. Simple toys like a climbing limb, or rope spiral will give them plenty of enjoyment.
As they mature they will be more and more active and enjoy a wider variety of items in their cages to keep them occupied when you are not around, or are sleeping. Your cute little darling will probably be wide awake and playing when you are snuggled in your bed. Just about any toy made for dogs, cats, and birds will excite your sugar glider. Careful choices will ensure that they will be safe when using them too.
Don’t buy items with lots of little strings as they can become dislodged and the tiny sugar glider can get wrapped up in them, strangling, or injuring and braking limbs. Try to buy things that won’t fall apart easily as small pieces of plastic or rubber from balls or things like that can be accidentally swallowed and your sugar glider could choke.
Your furry pocket pet will have plenty of fun in your house and on your body so toys outside the cage really aren’t all that necessary. If you like you can create entire jungle gym type play sets for your gliders, but it isn’t required. A few simple toys in their cages will keep them happy and occupied until it is time to play with their favorite toyyou.
