Believing in Great Expectations Is the First Step to Dating Honest Eligible Singles

Now, I cannot say I’m downright comfortable as an “independent” (aka: naturally single) person and remain an honest woman. Even then, I’m not uncomfortable about it, either. I merely bring it up in this blog as an ear-catching detail introducing what I am about to discuss honestly.

This time last week yours truly was talking to Corey, pondering about signing up for Dallas Personals site. Today, I sit to you as a fully satisfied member of the matchmaking service. Totally, and I almost don’t believe it myself! It’s full of fun, attractive people! If you know me at all, you may be wondering, “You got some ’splainin to do, Lucy!”

Here’s how it went down, I saw this Great Expectations Dating site and liked what I saw. They’re for the serious singles who care enough to know dating doesn’t have to be so frivolous and stupid.

Because I’d never been interested in this silly social phenomenon my friends and my family so aptly entitled “dating.” I got it more than you know. Every night readers pester, “You’re still single? ” and “Just get out there and date him!”

“That’s rubbish,” I say to them, and playfully so. “There’s nothing to date!”

“Whatever doofus,” they level with me. “You haven’t dated in a year, you wouldn’t know!”

Leave it to my best friend The One-And-Only (hehe) Patty Wilson. She pours reality directly to my core 99% of the time. Caring souls are always there for fresh advice. No countering that, and I joined.

Returning to the meaning of this essay. As I browsed from more than three hundred outfits (hah) and desirable, honest singles for my first Great Expectations date, a revelation hit me real. For years, I hadn’t entertained the greatest of figurative great expectations for dating in the adventurous winding course of this world. It’s good to be single, especially if you use the freedom to date. Embracing your own great expectations works terrifically on a cynics social life.
