How to Sustain a Loving Marriage

With nearly one in every two marriages ending in divorce, concerned spouses want to know what they can do to increase the odds of their marriage surviving. How to have a successful marriage remains one of the most popular topics for magazine articles, books, television talk shows, and discussions between friends.

Most people enter marriage with many unvoiced expectations of the other partner and about what it means to be married. A wife may think that her husband doesn’t love her if he doesn’t remember to give her a gift on the anniversary date of when they met. A husband may feel unloved when his wife is too busy to sit by him when he’s watching his favorite television shows.

In reality, these behaviors may have nothing at all to do with whether love is present in the marriage or not. As an anonymous author stated, “Just because someone doesn’t love you the way you want them to doesn’t mean they don’t love you the best way they know how.”

If you have definite expectations and you also happen to be a “historian,” the stage is set for a lengthy listing of all of your partner’s faults whenever you are upset. The current problems never get resolved because of all the “baggage” from the past that is brought into the dispute. The cataloging of past wrongs distracts you from the present issues, adds confusion, and can feel overwhelming.

“One of the keys to happiness,” observed Rita Mae Brown, “is a bad memory.” Of course, if important issues have been buried in the relationship and never addressed, it is important to do so, and this is often best accomplished with the help of a marriage counselor.

Once you begin lying or covering up, no matter how minor it is, you are hurting your relationship. It is easy to rationalize to yourself that a “little white lie” is for the other person’s good, but when you stop being completely honest, you are affecting the quality of the intimacy in the marriage.

Telling lies requires energy to remember what you have said, to whom, and when. Often, one lie seems to lead to another as you keep trying to cover yourself. If the truth comes out later, then trust is damaged.

A story is told about a wife hitting her husband on the head with a frying pan. “What’s that for?” he asks. She replies, “That was for the piece of paper in your pants pocket with the name Mary Lou written on it.” After he responds that Mary Lou was the name of one of the horses he had bet on recently, she apologizes.

Three days later when he’s again sitting in his chair reading, she knocks him out cold with the frying pan. When he comes to, he asks, “What the heck was that for?” She responds, “Your horse phoned.” The only way to preserve trust in marriage is to commit to being totally and completely honest at all times, even when it is difficult and uncomfortable to tell the truth.

In successful marriages, spouses honor the natural rhythms and cycles of the relationship, knowing that at certain times, they will feel closer to each other, and that at other times, there will be more distance in their dance of intimacy. They experience the truth of the words by Mignon McLaughlin, “A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.” There is total commitment in every way to the marriage and to the other partner, and preserving the romance is a priority for both.

Partners in successful, loving marriages want the best for the other partner and want to be supportive of that person’s needs, dreams, and goals. They want to show their love and appreciation for the other person in as many ways as they possibly can.

Even when they disagree or have substantial conflict, they want to do everything they can to protect the quality of the intimacy and the fabric of the relationship. They know that everything they say and everything they do has an important impact on the relationship.

Marriage provides an opportunity for you to reach inside yourself and to locate your places of deepest wounding that need healing. Everyone has defenses, ways of shutting down or shutting others out when they feel hurt, angry, or fearful. These defenses can block your ability to experience deep intimacy with another.

According to the poet Rumi, “Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” As always, the road to self-growth and emotional health leads to examining your own behavior and how you need to change, instead of focusing on how your partner should change.

There is no escape from doing your own inner work during the course of the marriage. To make real headway toward creating a loving marriage, focus on how you can be more loving and how you need to grow, instead of being distracted by what you perceive your partner’s faults to be.

Medical Insurance Plans for College Students: Everything You Need to Know

One of the items commonly found at the bottom of the list when budgeting for an education is health insurance for college students. At that age, health insurance is the last thing on a student’s mind. In your 20’s you will believe that you will be around forever so you will never become ill.

However, regardless of how fit an individual is, there is no way to predict their future health. Affordable medical insurance is not only a good idea, it is absolutely essential.

Those fortunate enough to be included in their parent’s policy are in general covered up to the age of 23. For individuals who do not have medical coverage through their parent’s insurance policy, a fundamental part in planning for school must be researching an inexpensive medical insurance policy. What should you look for in an insurance policy targeted at students? Deductibles: It’s a yearly sum you must pay before the medical benefits start kicking in, similar to an auto deductible. To use an illustration, should your deductible be five hundred dollars, you will have to pay that amount before getting financial benefits from your insurance policy. So what is your co-pay? When you meet the deductible, in general for every physician’s visit, medication, and operation you’ll have to pay a pre-determined part of the bill. This is called co-pay.

Exactly what should your medical insurance cover? Numerous policies do include Health Maintenance Organization or Partnership for Prescription Assistance. In essence this can mean particular doctors may possibly be excluded from your “network” or not be covered by your insurance policy. Almost all plans include a listing of approved providers, read this thoroughly before selecting a health insurance plan specifically for college students. Catastrophic coverage: Limitations are common in college student medical insurance plans as far as terminal illness, in virtually all student policies, the cover is ordinarily less than a regular insurance plan.

Restrictions: Low-cost student medical coverage policies commonly set certain limitations. Study your insurance policy to check what your insurance policy includes.

Carry all your medical insurance details safe no matter where you travel. It is not only not possible to plan for accidents or an illness, but they are most likely to hit at an awkward time. Familiarise yourself with your student health insurance policy even should you be covered by a family insurance policy.

Sensuality with Aromatherapy

Yes it’s true, aromatherapy is often a fragrant aroma that is pleasing the sense of smell. However it is much more than that, aromatherapy can be a big help in promoting relaxation, suppressing appetite, bringing both physical and mental healing to the body, and in enhancing sensuality.

This can be accomplished with candles, oils, inhalers, or diffusers and when the scent of the herbs or essential oils released into the room you will experience many benefits.

Some of these benefits may be directly absorbed into the skin by use of aromatic baths, oils, massages, and lotions.

The essential oils and herbs are varied and they all have different properties and while some are helpful with skin conditions, or arthritis, others may help stimulate the mind, increase your energy or even enhance excitement and create a romantic atmosphere.

Citrus is very good in increasing your energy and happiness and Lavender is known for bringing relaxation and peace. Some herbs and essential oils are sensual and natural aphrodisiacs.

In creating an atmosphere of romance choose Patchouli and Sandalwood, which are two essential oils that are natural aphrodisiacs and you can easily purchase aromatic candles that have these essential oils added to them. The oils may also be added to the candles or a diffuser for a wonderfully natural and aroma that will help enhance your romantic setting.

You can also make sensually scented air fresheners. This is a great way to create a romantic atmosphere in a short time. If you’d like to create your own air freshener get a spray or pump bottle, 1- ounces of distilled water, 1- ounces of Vodka and then 20 to 30 drops of your selected essential oil. Mix the ingredients in the bottle. You may want to create the air freshener 24 hours before you plan to use it so that all of the oils can mix well.

Another aphrodisiac is a sensual bath oil that will stimulate the senses and leave you smelling exotic. For a bath oil, you will want carrier oil, such as one ounce of Sweet Almond oil, 10 drops of Jasmine Oil, 5 drops of Sandalwood, and 5 drops of Lime oil. Blend all of the oils with the carrier oil. You can run a hot bath and put the oil in your bath and bathe for 20 minutes or more in this sensually delightful bath.

Am essential oils massage can be a sensual act that you share with your partner. Many plant oils contain natural aphrodisiac properties and when used in massage oil, they can set a mood that is inviting to romance and love.

Patchouli are Sandalwood are basic aphrodisiac oil. By adding either of these oils to one ounce of carrier oil, such as Jojoba oil. It is important that when you are going to have direct contact with essential oils, that you use them diluted. Essential oils are in concentrated form, and may be very irritating to the skin.

Patchouli blends well with Frankincense, Geranium, Lavender, Myrrh, and Cary Sage. Sandalwood blends well with Basil, Geranium, Rose, Vetiver, Lavender, Frankincense, Rose, Neroli, and Lemon. But test these yourself, you’ll find that some are better for you than others.

For a sensual massage oil, try this, add two drops of Patchouli, three drops of Geranium, and three drops of Rose oil to one ounce of carrier oil, Sweet Almond oil is a good option. Blend thoroughly and store in an amber colored bottle. This oil could be heated before using for a full body sensual massage, heat it by placing it in a bowl of hot water, NOT in the microwave.

If you are pregnant it is important to make sure that you only use essential oils that are safe for you and your baby. You should always check the labels and make sure that the oils are ok to use.

Get the Information You Need in Regards to Healing and Treatments with Aromatherapy

Is There Anything I Can Do To Help Me Receive The Distant Healing You’re Sending Me?

The main thing to do is to be relaxed and open your heart.

Distant Healing is the energy of Love which is channelled from the healer’s heart centre to the requesting person. Opening your heart to this energy, and relaxing and becoming aware of your feelings, really does help in the process.

Receiving healing is the opposite of trying. Trying implies effort and focus; healing works best if you are relaxed and open, with a quiet mind.

If you become aware of any fear or tension in the body, take your attention to that area. If you feel fear and are having strong negative thoughts in your mind, scan your body and look for tension, take your awareness down to the level of your feelings, and consciously breathe into that area.

You may feel this tension as dark shadows; as you consciously breathe into that area, you feel the light flowing in, and the whole area becoming lighter and more alive.

Quite often, it can be those dark shadows of tension that are the root cause of the imbalance.

It is like allowing all the boundaries to melt away; you feel your awareness expanding and growing in balance and harmony at the same time.

It helps also to use forgiveness in this process and to take personal responsibility for your life. When we stop blaming others, we bring our energy back to ourselves and bring our life back into balance.

Stricter Measures Urged by UCATT for Safety of Construction Workers

UCATT (Union of Construction, Allied Trades and Technicians) has demanded more resources for carrying out inspections in small and medium-sized construction companies. According to a study carried out by the Union recently, firms that employ 50 workers or less account for the maximum number of construction workers’ deaths.

Last year, the UK saw a large number of fatalities of construction workers, half of which took place in small and medium sized construction companies. These small firms make up for only one-third of the construction industry and the disproportionate number of deaths is causing concern to the Union.

Worried about a gradual reduction in the number of inspectors over the years, the Union is now asking for more inspectors to target smaller companies and to ensure strict enforcement of safety measures.

The General Secretary of UCATT, Alan Ritchie, said that companies should be forced to have a Director in charge of the safety measures, who, if he fails to do his job properly, could be imprisoned.

For the International Workers Memorial Day, the Union has requested everyone to maintain silence for 2 minutes at noon. Jerry Swain, Regional Secretary of UCATT’s London and South East Region, said that the day would help us remember the workers who have lost their lives. He also said that almost everyone in the construction industry knows someone who died while working, and this is a time to demand better safety measures so that the number of workplace deaths can be reduced.

To avoid the repercussions of a visit from HSE officials companies should bring themselves and their employees fully up-to-date with the latest H&S regulations. The iosh managing safely certificate is a highly reputable course run by Workplace Law Training and is a good first step to improving your companies H&S culture.

Oracle E-Business Customization a New Paradigm for Development

If your company has Oracle E-Business Suite (Oracle Financials, Oracle Applications), it probably uses Oracle Forms and Reports to customize an E-Business module. These tools are based on event programming and a huge set of facilities to make the developer’s job easier. Oracle Forms is a RAD (Rapid Application Development), and just like most RAD is based on event programming. So, you usually program having a user interface on mind, the “clicks” the user will do, and the possibilities you would like to give the users. Let us call this event programming paradigm, strong words to say the kind of principles this way of programming has.

As already mentioned before, Oracle has a huge Java strategy. Its recommendation is clear about the use of Java over new implementations. Pay attention at the last bullet we took from the Oracle Statement of Direction at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/pdf/10g/ToolsSOD.pdf:

• Move from client-server to the Web

• Upgrade to the latest versions

• Interoperate with Java/J2EE

• Develop new modules using JDeveloper

If you are supposed to develop in Java, the best way is to know and use Java as an Object Oriented (OO) language. At the same statement of direction mentioned above, Oracle said they have done JDevelopers a comfortable IDE for Forms Developers. But is this enough for you?

Java is not only a language. Actually the word Java is overused. Instead to mention the thousands of others “J” acronyms is much easier to say just Java. For example, to make a simple program in Java you will use the standard J2SE which has a lot of interfaces. To make a web interface you will probably use one of these API/Frameworks: JSP, Java Servlets, Struts, JSF, or some others similar to make the same. But, anyway, they all will use Java and, as we said, Java is an OO language and you should program just like this paradigm is alike: using encapsulation, inheritance, Java Interfaces, etc.

Everybody knows OO paradigm is not new, so it is better for you. People and the market know already what to do, and the best, what to avoid. We recommend you, first of all, to recognize this is a different (not difficult!!) way of doing. If you do so, you’ll open your mind to learn, what will make things much easier for you.

Next step is to study about OO Analysis and Design, we will help you writing some articles about it. Try to know what is UML(Unified Modeling Language) and how this will help you. Realize JDeveloper has an environment to design using UML, and this is very helpful.

Well … what’s next? Probably to specialize on Web, Server, Oracle ADF, Struts, etc. It’s common to find people specialized on client or server technologies; it’s too much to be good on everything. Good luck!!!

Feng Shui in the Modern World – Does It Work?

When you think about Feng Shui dating back over 3000 years you have to wonder if it still works or can something that old be effective in today technically advanced society. Maybe it’s just a little too old fashion and needs to go the way of the spinning wheel or the windmill. After all, everything outlives its usefulness and is replaced by something better, right? Perhaps the key to this question is keeping in mind that Feng Shui is not a piece of technology but a science and a philosophy. Feng Shui does not grow obsolete like a machine but remains constant like gravity or the rotation of the planets around the sun. Feng Shui survives the test of time because it is a basic truth not an evolving technology. The things that men invent become obsolete; the basic principals of the universe remain intact and constant. That is the essence of the longevity of Feng Shui. It’s based on unchanging universal principals.

So what principals are we talking about, and why are there so many different schools or methods of Feng Shui if it’s a universal constant? The different disciplines of Feng Shui all have the same common denominators and that’s what makes them all work. Drawing the “bagua” as a square or a hexagon doesn’t really change the philosophy underlying the bagua areas and their relationship to each other. Whether you create your Bagua Map with a compass or a reference point doesn’t change the concepts of “Intention and Balance”. To understand Feng Shui and to apply it successfully you must understand the basics in addition to the individual traditions or presentations. It is said that a skilled practitioner can make any of the disciplines work, and that is the key to understanding the nature of Feng Shui.

So does Feng Shui work? Did it ever work? Will it always work in the future? Why doesn’t everybody accept it if it’s so good, and why after 3000 years is it still a relatively unused philosophy? These are good questions. My short answer is “basic human nature”. There isn’t anything in this world of a philosophic nature that’s universally accepted. All of the great religions, all of the different types of healing arts, all of the schools of philosophy, are at best partially accepted at any time, in any place. Feng Shui is a piece to a much bigger picture, an important and useful piece, but nonetheless just a piece. It should be applied within its scope and not consume or replace any other elements of our existence. The very nature of Feng Shui is balance and harmony and Feng Shui itself must be used in balance without becoming an obsession.

So does it work? Does it work for everybody the same way to the same degree? And if it does how can you prove it? The answers I have to these questions is; “I don’t know.” How you prove the power of Feng Shui is a little beyond me. It falls into the category of working on faith rather than quantifiable measurable results. We can see the effects and theorize about the process but proving them like you do the law of gravity is difficult, maybe impossible. There was a classic movie made in the 1947 called “Miracle on 34th Street” with Maureen O’Hara, in which a court of law tries to prove if a man claiming to be Santa Claus really was. The movie of course was purely entertainment but the portrayal of proving such a thing one way or another may give us some insight to our question at hand of proving or disproving if Feng Shui is real.

I’d like to use a quote that is credited to Henry Ford who stated, “If you believe you can, or you can’t, your right”. If you have not heard that saying before read it a couple of times until the message sinks in. This theme has been expressed a number of different ways by a number of different people through the ages. Belief is strongly related to faith and our ability to imagine the things we want. Imagining is made possible by our ability to think and think rationally. We can imagine all kinds of new and wonderful things and thereby set the creative process into motion that will manifest anything that we can believe in. Feng Shui did not invent this principal it simply organizes it into a process that we can use to apply it. Does everyone believe in this principal, No! Does every one believe in Feng Shui, No! Does everyone have the faith that Feng Shui works and therefore the ability to apply its techniques and enjoy its results? Unfortunately the answer again is, “No”. Some will, some won’t, so what. Part of being a human being is having a free will and what we believe or not is an individual privilege, and we are all different.

Does Feng Shui work in the modern world, I will say yes. I will qualify this by saying it will work for anyone that believes it will work and has the faith to apply its techniques and the gratitude to credit its results. Feng Shui is not time dependent. It does not function differently in the modern world than it did in the ancient world. The power behind Feng Shui is the same today as it was yesterday and was at the time of creation. So whether we draw the Bagua Map inside a box, or inside some other shape, there are still nine life-event categories that we need to balance and seek harmony with. If our intentions are strong and our belief is positive we will initiate the creative process that will deliver what we want and Feng Shui can help us with that effort.

Beginners Guide to Betting Hall Taking a Risk: the Pastimes of Luck Betting Devotees Enjoying Taking Part in

In case you don’t comprehend gambling house wagering, read on…

casino bonus central

By general definition a betting hall is a structure that focuses on games. Clients are expected to take a chance handling slot machines or another betting games. Gambling house games as a rule include 100% determined odds incorporated which maintain that the gambling saloon preserves an edge above the gambling enthusiasts. A legion of betting house games may cause you to get habituated very rapidly. Let’s reflect on the simple slot machine, a coin eating contraption with 3+ cogs which gyrate when a crank on its side is operated. The instrument customarily will compensate punters correlating with a run of symbols discernible on the lit panel of the instrument. Sadly, betting hall pastimes will convey the fallacy of domination, effectively conning the gambling buff — the victim is given some options, but in reality these can never truly level the player’s overall odds. That is caused by the the casino not paying up the full sum as expected. This arrangement is notoriously noticeable in well known casino games like Texas hold’em, dice games, roulette or blackjack.

Five-card stud is indisputably an incredibly fashionable casino game. The customers, holding partially concealed cards, are placing bets into a central pot which is bestowed onto the prevailing participant carrying the best hand. (And yes, the bluffing hand can easily win as well.) Quite like five card stud, blackjack too is a very trendy casino pastime. A lavish amount of its repute is caused by its peculiar mix of chance and expertise & decision making, as well as a method dubbed “card counting”. This is a pretty sophisticated gambling tactics by which gambling devotees can bend the probabilities of the card game to their personal gain by both betting and systematic decisions correlating with the cards dealt. Craps is a famous gambling hall wagering game involving the throw of two dice. Visitors may make bets on the score of 1 roll, or on a succession of cycles on 2 dice. In contrast to blackjack, there is no conceivable bona fide winning strategy you can capitalize on to beat the odds. Roulette is an eminently popular casino game; a croupier twists a roulette wheel which holds thirty seven (applies to classical roulette) or thirty-eight (in the case of Vegas roulette) independently tagged places in which the tossed pellet will then come to lie, thereby announcing the winning number Whenever the gamer wagers on a specific number and is successful so he’s indeed lucky, the set remuneration will be thirty-five to 1, the wager is given back. Therefore in totality the initial stake is multiplied by a factor of thirty-six.

Please try to be emphatically on guard under all circumstances because most all of gaming room gambling pastimes should be considered exceedingly habit forming. Countless lives have indisputably been spoilt in the course of gambling and despite the fact that it surely can be enjoyable, aspire to govern your gaming.
